my xqcn file that can be used to enable CA_3_7, CA_3_38, CA_7_3, CA_38_3, CA_3_7_7, CA_7_3_7 and CA_7_7_3 CA combos on Mi5.
Extensive tests in Russian MTS and Megafon networks have revealed that CA_3_7 and CA_3_7_7 work exellent, while with active CA_7_3, CA_7_3_7 and CA_7_7_3 combos there are some instability issues that seem to be phone(modem firmware?)-related (other devices work well in similar cases).
CA_3_38 and CA_38_3 haven't been tested yet since there's no support of them here until 2017Q2 at least.
In order to make use of mentioned xqcn file you should add its contents to phone's modem subsystem' filesystem, EFS. This can be done with QPST, for example. Switch phone's USB composition to one with diagnostic port included (code *#*#717717#*#* in dialer), install Qualcomm drivers for diag port (VID_05C6&PID_90AD&MI_00), run QPST Configuration app and add diag port to its list (if not added automatically). Next, launch QPST Software Download app, select Restore tab, set path to xqcn file and push the Start button. Added CA combos will become active right after reboot.
Does anybody know the way to contact Xiaomi's firmware developer team? It would be great to dicsuss numerous CA-related stuff with them - say, CA_7_* issues mentioned above and some other things
